Kite Surfers Outraged By Push For Beach Ban

Byron Shire Council decided to kite surf is too dangerous on crowded beaches, and wants banned in the area between the Pass and Byron Bay Public Swimming Pool. The Council is concerned about the potential for Collisions With Beachgoers. Kite surfing, which has gained popularity in the region in recent years, involves attaching a board to a kite, which allows the rider to travel at high speed and reach heights of about five meters above the water.
